Twenty-something tea-drinking female of the fangeek persuasion, currently living out my university years in the upper Midwest masquerading as a graphic design student with a dash of film editing and journalism (as a friend likes to put it, creating fannish meta for a grade). I grew up on a healthy diet of assorted cheap British sci-fi, comedy, and Star Trek, which probably explains a good deal about my proclivities. Honorable mentions go to spy noir and police procedurals with a twist. The fannish traits are probably hereditary or psychologically unavoidable and all, etc cetera, and were baptized during the Dark Ages of the internet. Recently, almost all of the above have involved Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, and I've been sucked into the vortex of excessive canon of Doctor Who courtesy of a big-eared Northern bloke.
Most of the journal's taken up by dryly sarcastic day-to-day minutiae, occasionally about assorted “Real World” pithiness in a cavalier attempt to convince the flist I don't live in a custom-made box with a peep-hole for air and watching television. In my spare time I can normally be found drinking noxiously sweet Starbucks coffee with a book and my cat, writing, both half-baked pseudo-scholarly and fanfic, and working in a grey, suburban library with perpetually cranky patrons.
